Ghislain Wilfrid Joseph Gus Hudon Tuesday January 4th 2022 avis de deces

Ghislain “Gus” Hudon, late of Prince Albert, SK passed away peacefully in his home on January 4th, 2022, at the age of 72 years. Gus was born in Rouyn-Noranda, QC in 1949. He was the firstborn of 7 children. In April of 1950, they moved out West and lived in Zenon Park, SK before settling permanently in Prince Albert, SK in 1955.
Gus received his Power Engineering diploma from the Kelsey Campus in Saskatoon, SK. He began his power engineering career by working at the Saskatchewan Penitentiary for a few years. Afterward, he continued his career at Cameco for the next 32 years before retiring. Although he enjoyed his work, the best of his days was spent visiting with friends and coming home to his family.
Family has always been a central part of Gus’s life. In the final years of his fulfilling life, he loved nothing more than hanging out with his wife, siblings, kids, and granddaughters whenever he could. He came from a large family and always looked forward to the family get-togethers with everyone. You would always find Gus having a good conversation with anyone and joking around. Gus had an infectious enthusiasm. He was a jokester and absolutely loved making people laugh. He was someone that would always be there for you. He was always there to help relatives and friends with household projects or whatever they needed. Gus loved being a grandpa. He was very proud of his grandkids and was always showing pictures and sharing stories of them with anyone and everyone. His granddaughters absolutely adored him and were always so excited to see him.
Those who knew Gus knew he was an animal lover. All throughout his life he always had a dog by his side. He enjoyed going to dog shows and had an encyclopedic knowledge of them. He loved showing off his knowledge by asking questions to see if anyone knew and then would go into great detail.
Gus was a passionate life-long Montreal Canadians fan. He and his brother would have hours-long conversations after the games to analyze every little detail. He enjoyed watching many other sports especially if his own kids, nieces, or nephews were playing. You could always count on him to be there cheering you on. During the summer months, Gus enjoyed going on long motorcycle rides with his buddies. They would travel several hours just to enjoy a meal. Gus will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
A special thank you to the people at Homecare for their care and support during his final days. Also, the family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude towards the Cancer Center in Saskatoon.
Gus is survived by his wife Brenda, of 42 years, his children Denis Hudon, Janelle Hudon, and Lauriane Hudon (Jason Dallman). His granddaughters Mara Hudon and Elowen Dallman; his siblings Nicole (Bob) Tuck, Bruno Hudon, Chris (Colleen) Hudon, Michel (Louise) Hudon, Mario (Leslie) Hudon, and Marjie (Rick) Genest.
