Obituary of Gerald Woods
It is with great sadness, we announce the peaceful passing of Gerald Woods on Sunday, February 6, 2022 at Grey Bruce Health Services, Owen Sound.
In his 91st year, Gerald is survived by his four sons Rod and Gail of Bolton, Gary and Laurette of Courtice, Dave and Janice of Baltimore (ON), Gord and Linda of Oakville and their families. Gerald was married to the late Eileen Woods (Snell) for 67 years, who passed away in July 2021.
Gerald was born in Farnham Surrey England in 1931 and immigrated to Canada in 1954. He has been a resident of Owen Sound since 1979. Gerald will always be remembered for his character of laughter and brilliant smile.
The Woods Family would like to thank all the staff at GBHS for their comforting care Gerald received in his last days.
A private memorial service to celebrate Gerald’s life will be held at the Brian E. Wood funeral home, Owen Sound, 519-376-7492, on Thursday, February, 10, 2022. A celebration of life for both Gerald and Eileen will be held in the spring of 2022.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Owen Sound Regional Hospital Foundation would be appreciated and can be made through the funeral home. Condolences can be sent to the family by visiting Gerald’s online memorial at www.woodfuneralhome.ca
