MOORE, Gerald Bernard
Sydney River
As we reflect on a life well lived, we are heartbroken to announce the passing of Gerald Bernard Moore of Sydney River. He passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones on October 8, 2022.
He had many family and friends who will miss him dearly but especially the love of his life, his wife of 53 years, Anna Moore (MacKenzie). He will be forever loved by his three children: Brenda Raymond (Geoff), Darren Moore (Lisa) and Geralyn Moore. If you knew Gerald, you knew his pride and joy was not only his children, but especially his grandchildren. He lit up when any of them walked in the room: Matthew Moore, Shamus MacPherson, Peyton Moore, Zoe MacPherson & great-grandchild, Millie Moore.
Gerald worked hard his whole life, especially during his years at the Sydney Steel Plant. In his younger years, he could be found coaching sports, playing guitar or in the garage working on his beloved antique cars. He was a member of the Cape Breton Antique & Custom Car Club for 30+ years, as well as various committees spread over his lifetime. Papa was a great story teller and jokester who loved a good laugh. Music was also a passion of his which he loved sharing with us all. He was a loving husband, father & Papa who will be deeply missed.
Thank you for the kindness and support provided by all staff at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, as well as the caring words and gestures from all who have reached out over the past few days.
There will be no visitation or service. There will be a celebration of life at a later date.
