Obituary of George Augustowitsch
AUGUSTOWITSCH: George –
A resident of Blenheim, and formerly of Keswick, George Augustowitsch passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday, September 10, 2022 at the age of 75.
Born in Landshut, Germany to Russian parents, George was the son of the late John and Helen (nee Barbaszinski) Augustowitsch.
Beloved husband of Susan (nee McFadyen) of 32 years.
Loving father of Karen Augustowitsch of Toronto, and Maxine Augustowitsch (Nik) of Hamilton.
Dear brother to Walter Augustowitsch (Sharman) of Toronto.
Dear uncle to Jonas Vlasenko (Tandis) as well as many nieces and nephews.
George began his first career as a Chartered Accountant in 1973, retiring as the CFO for Fraser and Beatty in 1992.
He began his second career as a real estate broker in 1994, retiring to Blenheim in 2017.
George had a passion for music. He was a talented keyboard player who loved to jam with his friends. He was a wonderful cook who loved to entertain.
George will be remembered for his deep, sentimental, loving nature and being young at heart.
Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 141 Park Street, Blenheim on Saturday, September 17, 2022 from 1:00 pm until the Celebration of Life at 2:00 pm.
Cremation has taken place with a private family interment to be held at a later date.
Floral tributes or donations made in memory of George to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
