Obituary
George Ronald Rooke
We are heartbroken to share of the unexpected passing of Ron Rooke (70), of Pavilion Lake. Ron passed away on May 1, 2022, in a tragic motorcycle accident following a day of riding with a treasured friend on his way to meet family.
Ron was born on October 28, 1951, in North Vancouver, 20 minutes behind his twin brother Bill. After Ron graduated from Killarney Secondary in 1970 he went on to become a heavy-duty mechanic and a long-haul truck driver for most of his life.
Ron was pre-deceased by his parents Jack and Aileen, his wife Grace, Brother Bill, sister Rae Ann and his Auntie Rookie. He is survived by his sister Helen, daughters Heather (Vince), Sharilyn (Jeff), Jennifer (Sarah), Donna (Peter) his Grandsons and Nephews. Ron is also deeply loved by extended family members, long-time friends and colleagues.
Ron enjoyed his life at the lake and its many projects. He had a lifelong passion for motorcycle riding and had plans for a grand road trip with Shilo, his beloved dog. He was a hard worker and steadfast in his loyalty and love for his family and a role model and mentor to his Grandsons. He loved his family fiercely and deeply and would be the first to offer a helping hand to anyone in need. We will miss him more than words can say.
