George Richard Bishop
1945-2022
George Richard Bishop, 76, of Forest Dale Home and formerly
of Albert Mines passed away peacefully on February 28th, 2022
at the home with his boys by his side.
George was born in Moncton on March 13, 1945 the son of the
late Calvin L. and Gladys (Steeves) Bishop.
George was a hard worker having worked at T. Eaton Co.,
MacArthur’s Nursery, the Gypsum Mill, Lockhart’s Lumber, last working
at T.P. Downey & Sons in the lumber mill until his
retirement. He made many good friends along the way and they
all shared lots of laughs over the years. He attended the
Seventh Day Adventist Church when he was able. George had a
special place in his heart for animals and especially his dogs,
Trooper and Sue, they were there for him and the unconditional love
that they provided was a great comfort when he needed it.
His last dog, Jake, is still around and being cared for by George’s
sister, Ruth. You never saw the car going without Jake
sitting in the front seat. He was truly grateful
for the fact she took Jake in when he could no longer look after
him.
George was a very devoted and caring dad and would do
anything for his boys. He taught them not to
overthink things, that nothing will ever be perfect, so just
keep moving and do your best. His family was his pride and
joy and he always enjoyed talking about them and was very proud of all
their accomplishments. “A Father’s love is forever
imprinted on his child’s heart.” We love you dad, until we meet
again.
He will be deeply missed by his sons, Allan (Cheryl) of
Lower Coverdale, Gary (Linda) of Pine Glen and Darrell (Kim) of
Ponoka, AB; his treasured grandchildren, Nicholas (Stephanie), Tyler
(Tabatha), Cody, Christopher (Nola), and Cole;by his four precious
great grandchildren, Benjamin, Dakota, Mikayla and Grayson; his
sisters, Elizabeth “Betty” Dukeshire of Brantford, ON and
Ruth Bishop of Hillsborough; brothers, Winston Bishop (Eleanor) of
Moncton, and Lyall (Cynthia) of Oshawa, ON. He will also be
missed by several nieces and nephews, by all his extended family and
friends.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by his grandson,
Mark.
He will be resting at the Albert County Funeral Home with a
time of public visitation on Friday, March 4th, 2022 from 2-4pm and
7-9pm. A Graveside Service will be held on June 28th, 2022
at 2:00pm with Pastor Paul Steeves officiating in the Curryville
United Cemetery, Curryville, NB.
