Obituary for
George Norton Turk
It is with profound sadness that the family of Mr. George Norton Turk announce his peaceful passing on Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at the age of 82 years.
George resided in Spruce Grove, Alberta, having relocated from Sangudo, Alberta. He committed his life to his family, farm and community. George was a farmer for many years, later transitioning to a career in politics and serving as a Lac St. Anne County councillor and Gas Co-op councillor. He enjoyed his retirement job as a driver at Competition Chevrolet Oldsmobile up until his passing. George taught all of his children the importance of being on time and the value of hard work.
George was a strong supporter of community and was involved in the Lions Club, Legion Club and Coyote Community Association for many years.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. George is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Nettie; and his four daughters, Maureen Kramar (Kevin), Lorraine Miller (Don), Kristine Kramar (Lyle) and Johanne Turk (Jody Caron); grandchildren, Christopher Kramar, Cody Kramar, Kyle Kramar, Parker Miller, Rachel Miller and Sona-Rae Turk; and sisters, Ruth Wilson (Dale), Barb Elston (Kurt) and Joan Halverson.
George is predeceased by his parents, Peter and Constance Turk; and brother-in-law, Chuck Halverson.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Dr. Sehgal and the amazing nursing staff at the Mazankowski Heart Institute for their compassion and care of George.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects Thursday, July 14, 2022, at 12 p.m. at Coyote Community Hall, Cherhill, AB, RR 54, TWP RD 571. A Celebration of George’s life will follow at 1 p.m. at Coyote Community Hall.
