George Nimmock Tuesday November 22nd 2022

It is with profound sadness that the family of George Nimmock, November 2, 1934 to November 22, 2022 announce his peaceful passing at Providence Care in Kingston. George was known for his smile and friendship to all who knew him. He was a faithful man who was involved with St. Peter’s United Church. He was a passionate runner and loved golf and everything related to his home country of Northern Ireland. He was the best father a child could ever know and a loving husband to Jean (2008) and Ann (2016), both predeceased. George was also predeceased by his parents, Jesse and Elizabeth and his children Julie and Patrick. He will be fondly remembered by his children, Jane Nimmock, Stephen Nimmock (Micheline), Linda Wiersema, and Sarah Hatfield (Jamie); his grandchildren, Julie, Kevin (Kristen), Meagan (Rem) and Michael (Kaitlyn); his brother Bill (Lorna) and his children; and his best friend, Noreen MacKay, who knew him for 59 years. The family would like to thank the numerous caregivers, from Paramed, CBI and Providence Care in Kingston. They were a comfort to George and to his family. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will happen in July 2023 in Sudbury, with burial at the Parklawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society.
