Geoff was a special gift from God for 40 years to his parents
Cheryl and Todd. Geoff was also very special as he was the first-born
great grandson and first-born grandson on both sides of the
family.
Geoff found his love for video games at an early age saying
he wanted to work with computers as his career choice at age 5.
Geoff’s two younger brothers, Nic and Andrew, also loved
playing video games which created a strong bond between them for life.
If they were not playing in person with each other they would play
from a distance online.
Once Geoff left home to go to college he met Dave, Chris and
the rest of “The Crew” who became lifelong friends. This
“Crew” as he called them shared many adventures together
including camping and a trip to Las Vegas. Geoff spoke very fondly of
his Crew and kept in touch right to the end.
Early on in his career Geoff met another very special
lifelong friend, Scott. Wing night at Rocky’s was a weekly
tradition for them for several years. They shared wings one last time
a few weeks before Geoff’s passing.
Geoff’s career path led him to his job at
Salesforce. For the past eleven years (three years in Australia) he
worked as a Linux Server Administrator. Geoff enjoyed his work so much
that he worked right up until a few weeks before his passing. Geoff
spoke often of what a pleasure it was to work for Salesforce, with his
co-workers and manager.
Beside his family and close friends Geoff will leave a big
hole in the hearts of his online gaming community, especially his
fellow Guardians, Mike and Dan, with whom he played at least weekly.
Mike, Dan and Geoff shared many life experiences together with Geoff
joining their online chats even during the last two weeks when he
couldn’t physically play the game. His gaming community used
these words to describe Geoff: Geoff touched the hearts from Guelph,
Florida, New York, Pennsylvania and many places in between. Geoff was
patient, generous, caring, intelligent, trustworthy, reliable,
skilled, humorous, dedicated to helping others, thorough, unselfish,
he had a hopeful spirit and a loving
personality.
Even though Geoff’s immediate family was small, he
leaves behind a large extended family on both sides too numerous to
mention.
Per Geoff’s request, no funeral service will take
place. Geoff’s parents plan to have a private burial at a
later date.
For those who wish to donate in memory of Geoff, it will be
greatly appreciated to go to Bobby’s Hospice
(hospicesj.ca/donate-general/) or a charity of your
choice.
2 Timothy 4:7 – I have fought the good fight, I have finished the
race, I have kept the faith.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Geoffrey Beal 1981 2022..
