Leaving to mourn daughters Debbie, Sandra, Judy (Bob), Lisa (Robert). Sons Frank, Pat and Paul. Her beautiful grandchildren and great grandchildren. Sister Mame Whelan and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Mom was born in Markland, NL, but moved to St. Johns with her family as a young girl. Although she lived in St. Johns most of her life, she loved to reminisce about her childhood memories in Markland.
We were fortunate to return to Markland for a visit last summer which brought her great joy. It’s the little things in life she loved.
Mom was the epitome of a mother. Being surrounded by family was everything to her. As a single mom, she struggled for many years, through many tears, but her strength and love for her children guided her through the tough times. She never gave up on us. Growing up, we witnessed the sacrifices she made for her children and in turn we spoiled her rotten! She deserved that and much more. Her door was always open. Anyone who knew her, loved her. Our friends were always welcome and always felt loved by “Mudder Yetman”.
Mom loved having a game of cards. Any day, any time, she was aways ready with her bag of change. When she wasn’t playing cards, she loved going to bingo any chance she could get. She loved going for a long drives and talking about the good ole days.
Although our lives will never be the same without our precious mom, we know she is always looking down at us and guiding us with her gentle spirit. She was the rock of our family, and we were truly blessed.
We would like to thank the doctors and nurses at St. Clare’s 6 East for their exceptional care of mom in her final hours. Also, to our friends, extended family members and coworkers, thank you for kind messages, offering of support and love. We truly appreciate you all from the bottom of our hearts!
