Obituary for
Gary Vincent Lewchuck
March 11, 1952 – June 7, 2022
On Tuesday, June 7, 2022, Gary Vincent Lewchuck of Lac Ste. Anne County, AB peacefully passed away at the age of 70 years.
Gary leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 26 years, Patrica; son, Brian; daughter, Jodi; stepson, Cory (Angie) Wildeboer; stepdaughter, Jackie (Tyler) McIntyre; grandchildren, Ashley, Antonio, Gabby, Justine, Aaliyah, Jessica, Weston, Alex and Xavier; mother, Patricia; brothers, Lorne (Penny), Lewis (Roxanne), Kevin (Sylvia); sisters, Connie (Leonard) and Holly (Gord); and many dear relatives, co-workers and friends.
Predeceased by his father, William (2008); parents-in-law, Edward (2009) and Helen (2020).
Gary was an extremely talented woodworker and musician, known throughout Alberta for sharing his love of music.
He loved his work and the many friendships formed during his 33-year career as a carpenter with Northern Gateway Public School Division.
Gary’s talents also included photography and on his many travels and walks, his love of nature was captured in thousands of photographs.
Gary’s love of music began in the cradle, with his family’s musical talent known far and wide. He first played at a public dance at the tender age of 12 years and did not stop playing until April 5, 2022. Gary’s innate talent meant he could pick up any stringed instrument and begin making music – which was pretty extraordinary considering he could not read music!
Gary’s music was enjoyed by so many people all across Alberta and now his music is being enjoyed by all those in Heaven.
Thank you to the doctors and staff of the Cross Cancer Institute, Mayerthorpe Healthcare Centre and the MAID program for the compassionate care shown to Gary and the family.
A Celebration of Gary’s Life will be held Friday, June 24, 2022, at 1 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #126, 5111 – 45 Avenue, Mayerthorpe.
