Obituary
We are saddened to announce that Gary passed away peacefully at Ross Memorial Hospital on October 13, 2022. Dear husband of Isabel Gill (nee Haswell) for 62 years. He is survived by loving children, Dean Gill, Geraldine Lank (Darcy), Carolyn Thomsen (Peter), Jacqueline Moyle (Grant). Always loved and will be remembered by his grandchildren, Jordon, Jessica, Joshua, Jason, Krista, Tyler, Kieran and Caitlyn.
Survived by his sister Rosaline Roberge and brother Ted Gill (Beth). Predeceased by parents Melford Gill and Irene Gill (nee Reil) and siblings, Mitchell, Vertle, Russell, Shirley and Patsy. Remembered by many nieces and nephews.
Gary was born in Lindsay, ON on Feb. 28, 1939 and moved to Sunderland, ON where he and Isabel were married and raised their family. He worked at General Motors for over 30 devoted years and after retiring they returned to reside in Lindsay. Gary and Isabel travelled to many places including England, Scotland, The Caribbean, Mexico, Florida and multiple trips to Western Canada. He loved his time spent as a member of the Kawartha Lakes RC Flying Club. Gary also loved music and will be remembered for being an accomplished steel guitar player who played for many years at the Lakehead Barn in Peterborough.
The family would like to thank and express their appreciation to the staff in the dialysis unit at the Ross Memorial Hospital as well as Dr. Mervyn Stone.
A Celebration of Life is to take place on October 29th, 2022 at Lakeland Funeral Centre located at 19 Moose Road, Lindsay Ontario, between the hours of 2PM – 4PM.
