It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gary Francis Petrie, 65, of Scotchtown, on January 18, 2022. Born in New Waterford, he was the son of Daniel (Dapper) Petrie and the late Marie (Briand) Petrie.
Gary was devoted to his family and loved spending time with his grandchildren, always having a pocket full of bubble gum for the kids. Gary was often found enjoying life at the bungalow or tinkering away in the garage. He was a loud boisterous man who brought laughter and joy to everyone who was lucky enough to have met him.
Gary is survived by his wife Mary (Williams), his children Angela (Mikey), Stephanie (Scott); grandchildren Dawson, Josh, Brayden, Liam, Taylor, Carrie, Maci, Jorja, Leah, Madison, Kaiden; brothers Brian (Mary), Glen, Blair; sisters Dawne Marie (Kenny), Roselyn (Michael); brothers in law Michael (Bernice),
Archie (Susan), sister-in-law Marion.
Besides his mother, he was predeceased by his son Gary – his partner in crime, grandson Jacob, and brothers in law Charlie and Ervin.
Cremation has taken place and a private family chapel service is being held, with Father Jim Oliver officiating.
Donations is Gary’s memory can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of McLellan Brothers Funeral Home, 3183 Plummer Ave, New Waterford, 902-862-7500.
