Obituary of Gail Marie Brittner
On January 4, 2022, Gail Marie Brittner (nee Macyshon) passed away, at age 67, after a brave, courageous battle with cancer. Gail was predeceased by her parents, Mary and Michael; Uncle Eric and Auntie Ann; Uncle Bill and Auntie Jerry; Uncle Mike; her parents-in-law Fred and Emma; and her brother-in-law Roland. She is survived by her devoted husband of 47 years, Peter, daughters, Melissa and Jessica; and grandchildren, Abigail and Ethan. She is lovingly remembered by her brother Bob (d. 2021) and Joy; sister-in-law Margaret and Jim; brother-in-law Manfred and Bev; Uncle John (d. 1991) and Auntie Francis; Uncle Pete (d. 1989) and Auntie Stella; Uncle Walter (d. 2009) and Auntie Deloris; and Uncle Morris and Auntie Bernie. She will also be remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Gail will always be cherished by her three best friends, of over 40 years, Debbie, Myrna, and Pat.
Gail was a fun-loving spirit and loved to create memories. She was always up for a good time and loved spending time with family and friends. She had an infectious laugh and loved to play games and cards. Many hours were spent playing Yahtzee with Joy, crib, and Slangteasers. She enjoyed entertaining and always made enough food to feed an army. She put others before herself and rooted for those less fortunate. She looked forward to adventure, particularly at Regina Beach and in Mexico. Family was very important to Gail and she delighted in seeing her nieces and nephews. Time with friends was essential, from coffee and phone chats, to spending 15 hours celebrating birthdays with Debbie, Myrna, and Pat. Gail was a light in our lives and she will be desperately missed. Her battle with cancer was epic. Soon after her diagnosis, she battled through a harsh round of chemo followed by a surgery in Saskatoon. The surgery in Saskatoon almost took her life, and she spent 11 days in intensive care, and another two months in hospital, in Saskatoon and Regina. She enjoyed her last summer, spending time outside, celebrating her brother’s life in Winnipeg, her own birthday, and moving to a retirement community she loved. After another round of unsuccessful chemo, her last days were spent surrounded by family and their love. She passed peacefully and is no longer suffering.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Pasqua Hospital Palliative Unit. A private family Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
