On the morning of Monday, May 9, 2022, Gaetan Marcel Otis passed away in the Invermere Hospital with his family by his side. Gaetan was born on July 1, 1948 in La Redemption, Quebec to Omer and Theresa Otis. He was one of four children born to them.
Gaetan moved to Western Canada from Quebec and settled in Canal Flats in 1969. He loved working in the bush and at the saw mill. Being a logger and a forester was something he truly enjoyed. Gaetan treasured his time in the outdoors and enjoyed hunting. He looked forward to his many backcountry quad rides and never tired of the beauty and peace of the countryside. Gaetan travelled across Canada and always enjoyed what time he had in the great outdoors. Gaetan has lived in Radium since 1974 and this is where he called home.
Gaetan leaves to mourn his passing his beloved partner, Linda Degrazio as well as his children; Richard Otis, Nicole Power and Sonia Mahon. He leaves behind one granddaughter, Shayla Goertzen. He also leaves behind one brother, Jaucque Otis and one sister Jocelyne Cloutier as well as his nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Omer and Therese Otis and one sister, Linda Otis.
Gaetan will be laid to rest in the Golden Cemetery. Condolences may be left for the family at www.markmemorial.com.
