LAYTON, Frederick “Fred”
The time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course and I have kept the faith. 2 Tim 4:6, 7.
On Saturday, September 3, 2022 at the age of 85 Fred went home to be with his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. He had a deep faith and was at peace with his destiny.
Born in Sydney Mines, July 17, 1937 to the late Ernest and Margaret Layton, he was a barber-hairstylist and owner of Gals and Guys.
He is survived by his wife Bernice, son Rick (Aimee), daughters Susan (Phil) and Sandra. Also leaving behind 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Left to mourn are his siblings, sisters Yvonne Robertson, Elizabeth (John) Munn, Jean Demonte, Carol (Dave) Roberts and brother Robert.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by his son Timothy, sister Sandra, and great grandson Roland.
Visitation will be held Wednesday September 7, 2022 in Sydney Memorial Chapel from 2-3 pm, followed by a funeral at 3 pm with Mr. Mark Hatt officiating.
Memorials may be made to charity of choice.
