Fred Edwin Herbert Johnson of Dartmouth, passed away on July 20, 2022 at Dartmouth General Hospital, a day before his 84th birthday. Born in Winnipeg Manitoba, son of the late Mel (Milford) F. and Mabel L (Rutledge) Johnson. Fred is survived by wife Catherine (Rogers) Johnson, sons Melfred (Hidemi) and Kenneth Johnson, granddaughters Chisa & Saki. He was predeceased by brother, Rev. Robert Johnson (Marybelle).Survived by niece Kathy (Wally) Peterson Thunder Bay, nephews Doug (Elaine) Moose Jaw, Tom (Monique) and David (Sandra) Johnson, Winnipeg. Sister-in laws Mary MacAskill & Annetta Cripps, brother- in-law Joseph Rogers (deceased). Granddogs Whiskey, Penny, Luna.
He was a 30 year member of C.A.F. Navy/Naval Air and traveled extensively. Following retirement he worked at IMP Areospace Ltd., and then as a Commissionaire. Fred was a true gentleman, very generous, kind and was dearly loved by his family. Fred loved to curl, golf, swim (a member of Shearwater 100 mile Swim Club – covering over 400 miles) and all TV Sports. He was an avid fan of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, Blue Jays and the Toronto Maple Leafs.
