Frank was born in Cranbrook, BC, to Walter and Rita Holdsworth. He was the eldest of three children with a younger brother, Eric and sister Judy.
Frank spent his first years in Kimberley, BC, and in smaller mining towns around BC, where his father worked. He lived in a cottage at Jewel Lake with no indoor plumbing or insulation, Greenwood in a home with indoor plumbing, and spent two years in Australia, as a young chap, learning to swim in Sydney Harbour. His family returned to Kimberley, where he finished his schooling.

He met Eleanor (Hirt) in Kimberley and they married in 1950. Together they raised their five children; Susan, Randy, Dan, Steve and Julia.
Frank and Eleanor were married for over 66 years. They were blessed with 18 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren (and counting) and at least one great-great- granddaughter.
Frank loved to golf and managed two holes in one in his lifetime, the second one after the age of 90.
He was an avid curler and skip for many years and used the “stick” to push the rocks when age didn’t allow him to bend anymore.
Frank belonged to the Rotary club for many years, as well as the Castlegar Legion.
He was a long standing member of the Castlegar Golf Club and the Castlegar Curling club having spent many hours volunteering over the years on work parties.
He was an honest and hard-working individual who took great pride in his family and a job well done.
Frank was pre deceased by his wife, Eleanor (2017), his brother Eric (2017) and his eldest daughter Susan (2009). He is survived by his sons Randy (Jodi), Dan
