I first met Francis nearly 40 years ago in connection to a hunting group we were part of at Boot Lake, north of Sudbury. He treated me as a younger brother and then my son Spencer came along and they formed a “father/son” relationship that also lasted throughout the years. Francis was always entertaining to talk with and to the end, he was as sharp as a tack. I believe he was most at ease when he was “at camp” with the boys. Even though he is no longer with us in body, I know that he will always be watching over me at the camp and wherever I am. A true friend to the end. Trusting you are at peace Francis- thank you for all we enjoyed together.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Francis.
I used to be his cleaning lady in Gravenhurst.
He was a very witty man and always made me laugh with a joke or two. I adored him.
Sorry for the loss of this wonderful man.

I was saddened by the passing of a special friend. I had known Francis for a brief time, but enjoyed our times together going to the Y for our fitness exercises. Everyone at the Y loved Francis, and at his age he was an inspiration to the younger generation. HIs quick wit and humour were spontaneous. It was a pleasure being his friend and I will miss our times together at Richard’s coffee shop and exercising. Bon Voyage my friend. Lynne, Daniel and the great grandchildren, my condolences he was a good man and made my time with him a great adventure.
