Kathryn Jean Foster of Canterbury, NB passed peacefully into her Savior’s presence on Thursday, November 24, 2022 at the Upper River Valley Hospital.
Kaye was born on Green Mountain, NB August 12, 1929, the Third of five children born to Elias and Florence (McNerlin) Foster. Predeceased by her beloved husband of nearly 73 years, Beecher, also her brother Gordon (Maxine, deceased) Foster, and sister Mary Alice Graham. She is survived by her devoted brothers, Marvin (Gladys, deceased) Foster, Curtis (Donna) Foster and by her loving children, Ron (Barb) Foster, Sheila (Bill, deceased) Grant, Marcia (Ron) Davidson, Boyd (Annette) Foster and Martin (Cheryl) Foster, 7 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She will be missed by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She will also be missed by her caregiver and close friend Pam Kirby-Davies.
As a life-long learner, Kaye completed her GED before going on to graduate top of her class at age 50 from the NBCC RNA program. She talked often with joy and pride of her years working as a nurse at Carleton Memorial Hospital until her retirement.
Kaye’s deep faith gave her confidence in salvation through the shed blood of Jesus. Online radio broadcasts could be heard daily in her home as she continued “Thru the Bible” with J. Vernon McGee. Her thoughtfulness in sharing wisdom and commitment to prayer was reflective of her love for God and His Truth.
Staying active was Kaye’s way of enjoying God’s creation. Residents of Canterbury area may recall seeing her biking and cross-country skiing throughout the area. Travels took her through Europe, Brazil, and Israel later in life. She was a published author of news, poetry, and short stories. An accomplished artist and musician, she taught herself the accordion and is remembered by many for her musical contributions to local community and church gatherings. She was a long-time member of the Canterbury Seniors club, and the Woodstock Baptist Church.
Visitation is at The Culberson Funeral Home, 188 Connell Street, Woodstock, NB on Monday, November 28, 2022 from 1-3 PM.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at 11 AM from The Culberson Memorial Chapel with Rev. Craig Woodcock officiating and assisted by Pastor Wayne Culberson. Reception will immediately follow service.
Private interment will follow at the Lower Fosterville Cemetery.
