It is with profound
sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Florine Cormier
(née Arsenault), 96, who passed away peacefully, at her
residence in Cap-Pelé, surrounded by members of her family.
Born in LeBlanc Office, she was the daughter of the late Walter and
Judith (Landry) Arsenault.
Florine was a very
caring, generous, loving and a person of great faith. She had many
interests, enjoyed golfing, travelling, and spending time in her
flower garden. Florine was also a very good artist. Her memory will
live on through her numerous pieces of copper enamel and her beautiful
paintings.
She will be sadly
missed by her beloved companion, Yvon Melanson and also, by her
sister, Yvonne, who took such good care of Florine ‘s during
her illness.
Florine is survived by
Yvon Melanson, her three sisters: Thérèse Leger
(Roméo) of Shediac, Cécile Brine (late Ralph) of
Cap-Pelé, and Yvonne Surette (late Edgar) of Moncton,
sisters-in-law: Stephanie Arsenault of Faubourg Residence, Moncton,
and Lévina Arsenault of Kitchener, a brother-in-law Gilles
Bois of Shediac: two special friends Carol LeBlanc and
Marie-Céleste Grenier.
She is also survived
by her stepchildren: Jeanne LeBlanc (Gilles), Marcel Cormier (Lise),
and Rose O’Brien (Gilles), one step son-in-law Ricky Wall;
her 15 step-grandchildren: Daniel, Nicole, Marc, Mathieu, Alain,
Christine, Renée, Luc, Conrad,
Jérémie, Natalie, Patrick, Émillie,
Pierre, and Amanda; her 12 step-great grandchildren: Kamille,
Mattéo, Kalix, Tristan, Kael, Élodie, Tomi,
Cassie, Livia, Amos, Flora, and Lawrence.
Besides her parents,
she was predeceased by her first husband Gérard Bourque and
her second husband Edgar A. Cormier, one stepdaughter Bernice Cormier
Wall, one step granddaughter Jani, four sisters: Gertrude Cormier,
Marie-Corinne Bourque, Juliette Bois, and Catherine Dessaulles, three
brothers: Gélas Arsenault, Claude Arsenault, and John
Arsenault, one sister-in-law Dora Arsenault.
The funeral will be
held at a later date.
In memory of
Florine, a contribution to a charity of the donor’s choice
would be appreciated.
Cremation and funeral
arrangements are under the direction of Frenette Funeral and Cremation
Centre, Cap-Pelé (577-3297).
