SCHLOSSER, FLORIE (Steffler)
It is with love and sadness that we share the news of Mom’s passing. Mom passed away peacefully in Windsor, Ontario on March 19, 2022. She was in her 102nd year. She is especially missed by her sons: Gary (Linda) of Blenheim, Greg (Francine) of Windsor, her grandsons: Paul (Alissa) of Windsor, Mark (Hiran) of Montreal, and Michael (Sydney) of Windsor, and great grand children; Nathan and Adeline. She is predeceased by her husband Vincent (1989) and son Brian (1981). Mom had a special place in her heart for friends and family. Her good friends, especially Betty, Marg and Flo, and nieces Karen (Dwayne) Tschirhart, and Jane (Jim) Raso especially shared much love and admiration with Mom. Our mom was self-conscious when her family and friends called her an inspiration. However, she was truly inspiring with her humble, faith-filled, caring and witty approach to life. We will miss her stories about her times as a secretary at Seagram’s during the war, working at the Kitchener Stock Yards founded by her dad (Frank Steffler), or her times at Pop Shoppe with her brothers Wally and Bill. She always looked forward to getting together to discuss the latest news or politics, accompanied by a glass of sherry (or two) and nibbles. A special thank you to the team at Royal Marquis Retirement Residence in Windsor; especially Tracy, Jasna, and Melissa. A thank you too to the team at Heron Terrace. You were with mom for a short time. Your caring is very special. Arrangements have been entrusted to Windsor Chapel (South) 3048 Dougall Ave, 519-253-7234. A funeral mass will be held at Corpus Christi Church in Windsor (1400 Cabana Rd. W.) on Wednesday, March 23, 2022, with visitation from 10 am until the start of mass at 11 am. Cremation to follow. Inurnment and prayers will be at Parkview Cemetery in Waterloo on Friday, March 25, 2022, at 12 noon. Donations made in memory of Florie to the CNIB are welcome and appreciated by the family.
