Caird, Florence Edna ( Peters )
15 March 1940 – 28 December 2021
Passed away peacefully with her family by her side at the Montfort Hospital on 28 December. Flo, in her 82nd year, beloved husband and best friend of Dale Edmunde Caird for 61 years. Loving mother of Brenda & Dan Pepin from Ottawa ON, Trish & Bryan Hupe from Stirling ON and the late Scott Brian Caird. Grandma to Robert Hupe, Campbell River BC and Megan & Josh May Trenton ON. Great Grandma to Dean & Thomas May. Dear daughter of the late Edna and Lloyd Douglas and dear sisters Nancy & Barry Greer and Judy & Allan Decker, Kingston ON. Dear daughter of the late Alice and William Peters. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Flo was born in Kingston ON where she met her long love, Dale. She moved to numerous places in Canada since she was a faithful military wife. She worked for Revenue Canada for 12 years where she retired from in 1993. Flo loved her dear husband, loved and was so proud of her children, grand and great children. Flo loved gardening, knitting, and relaxing at the cottage. She had a generous heart, always helping those who needed it however she could. Flo, Wife, Mom, Grandma, Great Grandma will be greatly missed.
A visitation will be held at Hulse, Playfair & McGarry – St. Laurent Chapel, 1200 Ogilvie Road, Ottawa on Saturday, January 8, 2022 from 1-2pm followed by a funeral service in the Chapel at 2pm. Due to Covid-19 restrictions all those who wish to attend must RSVP on the funeral home website just below Florence’s obituary.
