Flora May Collins
1928-2022
Collins, Flora May – 94, of
Centreville, Kings Co., passed away March 24, 2022 at Evergreen Home
for Special Care in the company of loving family. Born in East Halls
Harbour, Kings Co., she was a daughter of the late Morton Byron Ward
and Eveline Rosanna (Jess) Ward, East Halls Harbour. She loved and
enjoyed camping, a drive in the car, knitting, watching her oldest
daughter’s rabbits and her Christian Ministry as an active
Jehovah’s Witness. As the oldest daughter of 10 siblings,
she helped her mother in the family home and worked in the employment
of many families. As she raised her family she worked on the farm of
Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Coldwell, Port Williams, caring for the
household and bunkhouse employees of the farm. She especially enjoyed
picking apples there. For a time, she worked alongside her youngest
daughter at the Kent Lodge in Kentville. She was the wife of the late
David Ramsey Collins. She is survived by her son, Clayton (Meredith)
Collins, Centreville; daughters, Barbara Thompson, Centreville and
Sherry (Arlie) Tupper, Scotts Bay Road; grandchildren, Denice Tupper,
Nicholas Tupper (Lindy Long) and Daniel Thompson; great-grandchildren,
Tristan Tupper, Caleb and Jesse Thompson; step great-grandchildren,
Rhianna Walker Olscamp, Khalil Walker and Gavyn Weaver. She is also
survived by brothers, Robie (Pat) Ward, Morley (Joanne) Ward and
Clinton Ward; and sisters, Lucy Sheffield and Thelma (Philip)
Kazakoff. She was predeceased by brothers, Illsley, Leon, Beverley and
Merrill; and sister, Marie Kinsman. Cremation has taken place. There
will be no visitation. No flowers by request. A memorial service will
be held by Zoom, meeting ID: 890 9095 9563, Passcode: 101953 or phone
1-778-907-2071, on Sunday, March 27 at 2:00 p.m., preceded by a slide
presentation. Mr. Charles Crandall officiating. Donations in
memory may be made to the Centreville Congregation of
Jehovah’s Witnesses. Funeral
