FLANAGAN Catherine Alice of Stratford formerly of McKillop Township 2022 avis de deces

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our dear sister, Catherine Alice Flanagan at home, with family around her, on Tuesday, February 8, 2022, after a brief but courageous battle against cancer.
Catherine was born and raised on the farm in McKillop Township, the daughter of the late Connie (1989) and William Flanagan (1993). She is survived by sisters and brothers, Mary Margaret Van Bakel (John), Jack Flanagan, Ken Flanagan (Cindy), Larry Flanagan (Joanne), Teresa Finlayson (Brad), Pat Koehler (Al), Frank Flanagan (Louise) and Bill Flanagan (Marg). Lovingly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. Always remembered and cherished by Anita Looby and Maureen Flanagan and other cousins and friends who were praying for her on this journey. Catherine is predeceased by one brother, Joseph (1981) and nephew, John Flanagan (1981).
Faith, family and friends were always very important to Catherine. We all have fond and beautiful memories of our time spent with her. She loved to help others and was present for each and everyone of us when we needed her love and support the most.
Catherine worked for many years as a registered nurse where she touched the lives of many people and built lifelong relationships. Nursing was her passion and when her nursing career was over she volunteered in the community at Immaculate Conception Church and the CWL, the Alzheimer Society of Perth County ‘Soup’s On’ but most notably, at Spruce Lodge with her good friend Mary Jane, where she continued helping and serving others with her love and expertise in health care.
The family would like to thank the nurses at Stratford General Hospital (Medicine Floor), CarePartners, One Care, Horizon ProResp and all of the staff at LHIN for their exceptional care and guidance during Catherine’s illness. We would also like to thank Kim at Windmill Gardens for her friendship and support, as well as all of Catherine’s friends and neighbours who stopped by for a visit, brought food to the apartment, sent an encouraging card or letter, phoned, left a voice message or sent a text during these past two months. Please know you touched Catherine’s heart and brought a smile to her face.
A Funeral Mass celebrating Catherine’s life will be held at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 3931 Perth Road 180, DUBLIN on Saturday, February 12th at 11 AM with Fr. Donald Pumputis and Fr. Richard Bester presiding. Due to COVID 19 Provincial restrictions, each person must RSVP to attend Mass. Please click the “Register Now” button below, to register.
For those unable to attend Mass, the family invites you to join with them from the comfort of your home. Stream the service live or at your convenience by visiting www.facebook.com/haskettfh.
As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Rotary Hospice Stratford Perth.
