In Loving Memory of
Eugenie Boerboom/Sherstobetoff
Eugenie (Jenny) was born in Babiak Poland, January 5th, 1937, to Anna and Eduard Peltzer. Jenny immigrated to Canada with her family when she was 16 years old, eventually ending up in Creston where some relatives had already settled. Jenny had a hard but full life, it was there in Creston where she met Paul Sherstobetoff, and at the age of 24 they were wed. Paul and Jenny had a small farm in Canyon where they started a family which grew to 4 in size.
Jenny loved to bake and tend to her gardens; Jenny was well known for her skills as a cook and baker. She took great joy in preparing meals for family and friends and bake up cakes and delights for all to enjoy.
Jenny was an incredibly strong-willed lady who loved her family dearly even through many difficult times in her life. Paul passed away in 1992 and for several years Jenny was left alone. Then in 2001 she again found love, and it wasn’t long before she was Mrs. Arnold Boerboom. She and Arnold lived in Summerland BC where they worked side by side in Arnold’s family nursery. They travelled far and wide together enjoying each other’s company and companionship. Jenny and Arnold were married for the next 15 years, Arnold suddenly passed away in Jan 2016, Jenny returned to Creston in 2018, where she remained until her passing on Jan 3rd of 2022.
Jenny leaves behind many friends and family throughout BC and Alberta and will be immensely missed by all who were blessed to have met or been a part of her life.
A family and friends gathering for Jenny will be held later on in the spring as this was her favorite time of the year at a date yet to be determined by her family.
