Obituary of Ethel Maxine Cameron
Ethel (Cochrane) Cameron passed away at her home on Sunday, March 13, 2022, beloved wife of the late Rev. Stillman Cameron for 60 years, devoted mother of daughter Nancy, and son Glenn, granddaughter Valerie (Kevin) Oliveira, grandson Stephen (Megan) Cameron, great grandson Quinn Oliveira. Ethel was the daughter of the late Chester and Christian (Hudson) Cochrane and was born in Marysville, NB on December 17, 1931.
She was predeceased by her cherished daughter-in-law, Crystle Cameron, brother, Richard Cochrane and his wife Pat, as well as three sisters-in-law of the Cameron family, Mildred (Fred) Goodeill, Marjorie (Perry) Stewart, Leah Campbell, brother-in-law, Murray Cameron, her husband’s parents, James and Lottie Cameron (Shaw) and Stillman’s step-father, Albert Shaw, as well as many dear aunts, uncles, cousins.
In addition to her immediate family, she is survived by nieces, Janice (Gordon) Shanks, Nancy Cochrane, Barbara (Meaghan) (Deni), nephews, David (Ben) Cochrane, Stephen (Denise) Cochrane (Emily), “sister” cousin, Margaret (David) Jewett, cousins, Rev. Harry (Gloria) Wilson, Brenda (Ron) Miller, Betty Nicholson, Shirley Cochrane, Debby Symonds, Bonnie Stairs, Rick Cochrane, Paul Cochrane, Linda Grafton and spouses. Many Hudson and Moore cousins complete the family circle and cherished friends who were like extended family. Survivors from the Cameron family include niece, Susan (Guy) Woodward, Beth Mitchell, Jo-Anne (Mark) Simpson, Debby (Chris) Dave, James Cameron and Gail Goodeill, and their families.
Prior to her marriage, she was secretary at the Department of Provincial Secretary-Treasurer and for 35 years served in churches in various locations in the Maritimes where her husband pastored. She loved the church folk where they ministered and that love was returned to her in many ways, enriching her life and giving her many “Precious Memories” to cherish. After retirement from the pastorate, she worked for Fred Trites at Executive Associates, Fredericton, NB.
An outdoor Memorial will take place in Marysville this summer (date to be determined). Memorials may be given to Beulah Camp, Canadian Bible Society, or the charity of the donor’s choice. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com

  1. Glen, I am so very sorry to hear this news. Aunt Ethel was such a special person to everyone. She shared so much of herself and made us feel so special. We loved her very much.
