Ernie Butler
It is with heavy hearts that we announce Ernie Butler passed away peacefully on November 11, 2022 in Saskatoon, SK.
Ernie will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his wife Margaret, son Kerry (Susan), step children Karen (Don), Ray (Joanne), Gail (Scott), Shawna (Don), Randy (Jill) and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Ernie was born in Clair, SK, to Edward and Elizabeth Butler. This is where he spent his working life on the Farm. Ernie was always active and had a love for all sports, especially baseball which he played for many years. He also loved gardening and picking berries. He spent many hours enjoying his garden and took great pleasure in sharing its bounty with family and friends. Some of his other passions were hunting, fishing and bird watching. He worked as a hunting guide for many hunters from all over the United States who became lifelong friends. Ernie had a keen sense of humor and enjoyed a lot of laughs with his family and friends. Some of his other hobbies were dancing, playing cards, billiards or any other game as he was very competitive. He enjoyed a long retirement traveling with Margaret all across Canada as well as some tropical destinations. Ernie was a faithful legion member at Quill Lake, Colonsay and Young.
He was predeceased by his sister and brother in law Marie and Mel Smale.
A service and burial will take place at Clair in the spring of 2023.
The family would like to thank the staff at Sunnyside Adventist Care Home for all the wonderful care over the last few months.
