Erna Faye Nelson 19292022 avis de deces

Erna Faye Nelson
1929-2022
Erna Faye Nelson, 93, of Hopewell Cape passed away
peacefully on May 7th, 2022 at the Moncton Hospital
surrounded by her loving family.
Erna was born in Salem, NB on April 22,1929 the daughter of
the late Lorne and Doris (Hamilton)
Steeves.
Erna was a homemaker and she did exactly that.
She made a home of love and did so with determination and
strength. She had a large family and did what had to be done
to make sure everything was perfect for her family. Many
would think her husband, Blair, was the head of the
household but everyone knew who really had the last word and it was
Erna. When things did go wrong she was not one to dwell on
the bad but find a positive twist and move on. Her
children were her everything. She gave
them life, nurtured them, taught them, fought for them, held
them , shouted at them, kissed them, but most importantly she loved
them unconditionally. Then her grandchildren came
along and they knew Grammie was someone they could count on for
anything. Her favourite time was family gatherings and she
loved to prepare and feed them all. She would work for hours
and prepare the meals and she loved every minute of
it. Erna was a mother and grandmother who,
seeing there are only four pieces of pie for five
people, promptly announces she never did care for
pie. She was always putting
other people’s needs ahead of her own. She was a
powerful influence and will continue to live on in the hearts of her
loved ones forever. “Life doesn’t come with a
manual, it comes with a Mother.”
She was a member of the Hopewell Cape United Church for
years and then moved to the Hillsborough United Church after it
closed. Her faith was very important to
her. She was an active member of the Mountain View
Cemetery Board and served as Secretary and treasurer for many
years. Erna was the oldest living resident in Hopewell Cape
and she knew all the history of the area and if you had a question on
what happened years ago she was the one to contact.
She was so blessed to be in her own home right up until she was called
to her eternal home. She has left many lovely
memories for all to cherish and we know she is now at peace and
walking with her Heavenly Father. “Until We Meet
Again.”
She will be deeply missed by her daughters, Ellen Pottle of
Oromocto, Charlotte Warda (Peter) of Hillsborough, Norah Doucet
(Brian) of Sackville; sons, Keith (Cheryl) of Hillsborough, Hugh
(Shelley) of Hopewell Cape, Barry (Marla) of Hopewell Cape , Ralph
(Kim) of Moncton, Ian (Carolyn) of Moncton and Dana of Hopewell Cape;
her treasured 21 grandchildren and 27 precious great grandchildren;
and 1 great-great grandson; sister, Shirley Teahan of
Riverview. She will also be missed by several nieces,
nephews and by all her church family.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband,
Blair; brothers Merle and Lorne Jr.
She will be resting at the Albert County Funeral Home on
Monday from 2-4,7-9pm The funeral service will be held at
the Albert County Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 10th, 2022 at 2:00pm
with Rev. Peggy Reid officiating. Following the
service the family will be meeting with relatives and friends
in the reception area for further sharing of memories and for
refreshments. Interment will be in the Mountain View
Cemetery, Lower Cape, NB.

the Mountain View Cemetery or Hillsborough United Church or

appreciated.
Arrangements are in the care of the Albert County Funeral
