Eric Murphy
August 15, 1948 – June 17, 2022
Passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness at the Dr. L.A. Miller Center in St. John’s, Eric “Dick” Francis Murphy, aged 73 years.
Predeceased by his parents Edward and Druscilla Murphy of Ship Harbour, Placentia Bay; sisters: Stella, Sheila and Imelda; and brother Brendan.
Leaving to mourn his sister Doris Halfyard; brothers: Edward (Suzie), Harold (Judy), Jim (Judy), Brian (Georgina) and Wayne (Jackie); and a large circle of nephews, nieces and friends.
The family extends a Heartfelt Thank You to the staff at the Dr. L.A. Miller Center, especially the Nursing and PCA staff for the care and support to Dick during the last days. A very Special Thank You to his caregivers and adopted family, Gloria, Glenys and Jean Anthony who have cared for and loved him for the past 18 years. We, the family, are eternally grateful and will never forget you.
Cremation has taken place. The family will receive visitors at Caul’s Funeral Home, 84 Lemarchant Road, on Monday June 20th, 2022 from 11 a.m. – 9 p.m. Funeral Service will held on Tuesday, June 21st, 2022 from Caul’s Chapel at 10:30 a.m. For those who are unable to attend the funeral in person but wishing to do so virtually, please visit vimeo.com/event/2220020. Inurnment will take place in the Roman Catholic Cemetery in Ship Harbour on Wednesday, June 22nd, 2022 at 2 p.m.
Donations in his memory may be made to the Vera Perlin Society or the Kidney Foundation of Canada.
