Baker, Ena Mae (Sparks)
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Ena Mae (Sparkes) Baker of Fredericton Junction, NB announce her passing at home on September 21, 2022. Ena was born in Halifax, NS on March 10, 1943 to the late Louise (Downey) and Alexander Sparks and is the loving wife of Richard Baker.
Along with her husband, she is survived by two daughters; Denise Abbott and Wanda Baker, a son Jerry Baker, four sisters; Julia Sparks, Glenda Vallieres, Annette Steinhacker and Carol Killam, a brother Andrew Downey, four grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Ena was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking for her husband, the kids and anyone else the family brought home that was hungry. She met a good-looking sailor in Nova Scotia as a young girl, married him, then followed him to NWT, BC, Ottawa, NFLD and NS. Ena really enjoyed the outdoors and was quite content to drive the back roads with Richard, enjoying the countryside.
Besides her parents, Ena was also predeceased by a son Darren Wayne Baker and three brothers; Alexander, Avery and Cleveland.
Family and friends are invited to Sunbury Funeral Home in Central Blissville, NB for Visitations on Tuesday September 27, 2022, from 1-3 pm. A Graveside Service will follow in the Gladstone Cemetery with Rev. Maurice Hatfield officiating. The family would appreciate any donations in Ena’s name to the Tracy United Baptist Church.
