Elsie’s Obituary
Elsie Irene Elizabeth White, long-time resident of Manning, AB passed away peacefully on March 19, 2022 in the Manning Community Health Center just shy of her 84th birthday. Elsie was born on April 5, 1938 in Northville, AB.
Elsie was a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother & sister. Her greatest joy was her family and many friends. Elsie worked at Paul Rowe High School, the local elevator and owned her own “Sewing Boutique”, selling fabric, notions, and sewing machines plus she did custom sewing & taught sewing lessons. She sewed for her family for many, many years as this was something she took great pride in. Elsie was a charter member of the OORP (Manning Royal Purple) and became a lifetime member. She was set to receive her 60 year service pin. She volunteered with Royal Purple extensively and helped with many other local groups, spending many hours helping where needed. Along the years, as Elsie & Jim started farming, Elsie became a full time farmer. She hauled grain, made meals and had the farm bookwork proficiently organized, all while keeping the house ready with fresh baking & the coffee pot was always on. Elsie and Jim retired from farming in 2017 putting in the last crop that year.
Elsie was predeceased by her Mother Hannah Wadley; Father Harry Wadley; Brothers Harvey, Max, Joe & Ron; Son-in-law Nick Gudzinski; Grandson Jonathan Gudzinski.
Elsie is survived by her Husband Jim, Daughter Cheryl Gudzinski (Allan Paul), Son Kevin (Corrine), Daughter Lana Vant Erve (Dennis), 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Elsie is also survived by her sister Betty Stitzenberger (Carl) and family, plus a very special family Calvin & Carrie Lambert & family, and many extended family members.
Funeral services for the late Elsie White will be held on March 28, 2022 at 2 pm, at the Manning Elks Hall with Pastor Cory Rosenfeldt officiating.
