Ellen Quinn Bowie
December 27, 1943 – November 13, 2022
Ellen Quinn Bowie was a loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend. She passed away peacefully on November 13, 2022, surrounded by family.
Daughter of Patrick McAnally and Anne McAnally (nee. Jackson ) born on December 27, 1943 in Greenock, Scotland. Sister to Jim McAnally, Patrick McAnally, and Jeanette Wilson (nee. McAnally). She will be deeply missed by her son Paul Bowie and loving wife Tracey. Predeceased by her daughter Suzanne Cameron (nee. Bowie). She was a proud Grandmother ‘GMA’ to Milan, Quinn, Carter, and Evan.
She was an avid traveller with a love for reading, an active member of her local Catholic church and embraced life long learning, achieving a Bachelor of Arts degree from York University in 1993. She spent her most memorable career years as a Housing Administration Manager at York University. Ellen was well known for her volunteerism with Knightsbridge Seniors Centre and Historic Bovaird House.
Ellen will be desperately missed by all those she left behind, who’s hearts are broken by this unexpected loss. Ellen was one-of-a-kind and to be loved by her was to be truly blessed. Her strength was an inspiration to all.
