It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Ella Penny Pardy (nee Wheeler) in the comfort of her home, surrounded by family.
Ella was predeceased by her beloved husband, Tom and her children Christopher and Joan.
Leaving behind with memories, love and admiration her children Violet, Ruby (Melvin), June (Basil), Belle (Randy), Stan (Lorraine), Ivena (Jerry), Elvis, Ross (Marilyn), Perry and Sherry (Bob); 16 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
At the young age of 23, Ella ventured to Bonavista from Keels to work at the old cottage hospital. Shortly after she met the love of her life, Tom, marrying just a year later and so the story begins.
Many memories, many grand events and so much love. Ella was the glue to her family, the true Queen.
Her quick whit, love of cards, eagerness to play a trick and to rhyme a little “ditty” will be traits each of her family members will carry on.
Her only wish was to be with Tom and we know he was just waiting with open arms.
Forever loved and forever in our hearts.
Visitation will take place at Strathie’s Funeral Home on Sunday April 10 and Monday April 11 from 2:00 to 4:00pm and 7:00 to 9:00pm.
Funeral service will take place at the Salvation Army citadel on Tuesday April 12 at 2:00pm.
