Obituary of Elizabeth Irene Whitehead
Elizabeth Irene Whitehead
July 6, 1945 – July 13, 2022
It is with great sadness and sorrow that we announce the passing of Elizabeth Irene Whitehead, in her 78th year. She is predeceased by parents, John Downie and Agnes Poffley (2003), husband Glen Whitehead (1997) and son Michael (2022). Beloved mother of Lorie Downie, Sarah, Tracy and Steve Whitehead. Survived by sisters, Lesly (Don) and Marjorie (Carmen). Cherished aunt of Nona Doucette (Tim), Nina David and Kim Drouin (deceased). Great aunt of Angie O’Connor.
She was a very active person. Her hobbies were reading, listening to music, watching DVDs of her favourite TV shows, mainly “I Love Lucy” and “The Andy Griffith Show”. Her favourite colour was blue.
Special thanks to Christian Horizons and friends at 117 Park Street for their expressions of sympathy and support through this difficult time. Also thanks to Patsy and Chad Mansergh for their endless phone calls of sympathy and offers of drives. Thanks to the staff of Connell 9, Davies 4 and Kidd 7, for their excellent care of mom.
Cremation has taken place at the James Reid Funeral Home with a celebration of life and interment of ashes at a later date.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Her faith in God and the hope of the resurrection never wavered, as she used to say, “God Bless You” and “Keep the faith.”

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Elizabeth Irene Whitehead 2022..
