Elizabeth Hamilton Allen It is with great sadness, that the family of Elizabeth Hamilton (Benvie) Allen announce her passing on April 30th, 2022 at Camp Hill Veteran’s Memorial. Born February 27th, 1933 in Upper Stewiacke, N.S, she was the daughter of the late John and Olivia (Dean) Benvie. Prior to her retirement, Elizabeth was a Nursing Supervisor at the Cape Breton Hospital for the majority of her nursing career. Elizabeth is survived by her children; Maribeth (Sandy MacLean) Allen of Halifax, Robert (Carolyn)Allen of Grande Prairie, Alberta and Kathryn (John) MacPherson of Rothesay, N.B; and 5 grandchildren; sister in law, Violet Benvie, Saskatoon and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband William; siblings, Gussie (Donald) Burnett; Erma (Herb) Adamson; Edward (Lorraine); Lillian Benvie; James; Irene (Carl) Fleck; Grant (Kea); Margaret (Roy) Graham; Phyllis (Bernie) Hatt; Walter; sister in law Dorothy Allen. Heartfelt thanks to the nursing staff of 6 west at the Camp Hill Veteran’s Memorial. A family graveside service will be held in Halifax at a later date. Donations in Elizabeth’s memory may be made to World Wild Life Fund Canada or charity of your choice.
