Obituary
It is with deepest sadness and the heaviest hearts that we announce the unexpected and sudden passing of our beloved mother, wife, grandmother, sister, and friend, Elizabeth “Libby” Mary Halliday (O’Dea) at the Health Sciences Centre on October 11, 2022, at the age of 69 years old.
Predeceased by her parents William and Elizabeth O’Dea (Hart), brothers William “Dakey” O’Dea, Dennis O’Dea, John O’Dea, and Sydney (in infancy) and sisters Toni Picco (Raymond, deceased) and Christine Tilley.
Leaving to mourn with beautiful memories are her devoted husband of 48 years, David Halliday, and her adored children, Paul (Ashley) and Jennifer, and her grandson Carter Sturge, who was the light of her life. Also leaving to mourn are her siblings Sharon Guertin (Mike, deceased), Patricia Hauer (Ernest), Clare O’Dea, Janet Bishop (Bob), Ronald O’Dea (Debbie), and brothers in law Brian Tilley and Jack Halliday (Mary). As well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, nursing colleagues, her girls’ card club, and special lifelong friends Gerry Kelly, Loretta Power, and Rose Cook.
Elizabeth’s family would like to thank the first responders, and Health Sciences Centre Emergency room and Critical Care Unit nurses and special thanks to Doctor Sarah Mathieson and Doctor Joanna Mader.
Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue on Friday, October 14th, 2022 from 2-4 and 7-9pm and Saturday, October 15th, 2022 from 2-4 and 7-9pm.
