Elizabeth Anne Marie Williams
August 17, 1940 – March 16, 2022
It is with the deep sadness that we announce the passing of Elizabeth Anne Marie Williams, a wonderful and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who passed away peacefully on March 16, 2022 at the age of 82 at the Dartmouth General Hospital. Elizabeth, known as Betty to those who knew her, was born in the Mirimichi, NB and was the daughter of Mae and Vincent Hartery. Betty will be dearly missed by her loving husband of 61 years, Robert Williams; daughter, Brenda Potvin; sons Stephen (Tracey); and Colin; sister, Colleen (Leigh) Flett and brother, Jim (Linda) Hartery; and was predeceased by her son, Christian whom she missed greatly, as well as her parents and siblings; Marg, Jacqueline, Joanne, John and Lawrence. Betty also leaves grandchildren, Melissa, Adam, Alexis, Patrick, Brittany, Jillian, Elizabeth, Vincent and Sophia as well as great grandchildren Olivia, Kayleigh and Quinn. Although an inherently shy person, Betty was often quick witted and at times a devilish person to those who knew and loved her best. Dad often said it was what attracted her to him in the first place. She loved family gatherings and would be found amongst any crowd. Betty especially loved being around children and spent many years babysitting neighbourhood children as well as her own grandchildren. Betty enjoyed bingo immensely and always looked forward to Sunday nights when she would be with her bingo buddies. For many years, Betty was an active member of the CWL with Saint John XXIII parish. A funeral will be held on Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Saint John XXIII Church in Colby Village. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations could be made to the Saint Vincent de Paul Society or a charity of your choice.
