Elisabeth “Betsie” Van Eldik
April 15, 1934 – August 11, 2022
It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of our cherished mom and Oma, Betsie. Mom’s loving nature and quirky sense of humour will be sadly missed.
Betsie was born in Arnhem, the Netherlands, the eldest of four girls. She started her adventure to Canada in 1955 landing in Montreal and taking the train ride to Vancouver to reunite with her soon to be husband Bill. They raised their four children in Vancouver, Coquitlam, then Port Coquitlam and built a cabin at Deka Lake spending many happy days enjoying nature and the Cariboo life.
She is survived by her daughter Jeannette, her son Gerald, her grandchildren Daryn, Marnie, Dylan, Jesse, Kendra and Chris, and her great grandchildren, Bodhi and Skyler, and also by her sisters in the Netherlands, Nel, Joke and Ria, and all their respective spouses, as well as many nieces and nephews.
She is reunited in heaven with her husband, the love of her life, Bill, as well as her daughter Sharon(and unborn child) and son Andrew.

A memorial service will be held September 1 at 10:30 a.m. at St. John’s Anglican Church, 21299 River Road, Maple Ridge.
