Elisabeth Antonia “Betty” Dewsnap
Elisabeth “Betty” Dewsnap passed away June 4, 2022, at her home in Mayerthorpe, AB, surrounded by those who were closest to her and who loved her so much.
Betty was born in London, ON December 27, 1939, and she grew up on a farm in Southwestern Ontario. She married Richard “Dick” in 1961 and together they raised their children, Philip (Lynne Roberts), David, Derek (Shelly) and Mary-Ellen (Erik) Bergvinson. Betty is survived by her family, including her precious grandchildren, Kyle, Bo, Seamus, Cianan (Dora), Erin, Sheldon, Joseph, Thomas, Markus and Lukas; brother, Hugo (Donna); nieces, Michelle (Darryl) Perfect and Kelly (Frank) Rank, and many more dear friends.
Betty was a graduate of St. Joseph’s School of Nursing, Class of 1960 in London, ON, and practised her profession for most of her life. Betty retired in 2006 and moved to Alberta to be closer to her children and her newly arriving grandchildren.
Thank you to Dr. Jamal, Home Care nursing staff, Nancy, Deana, and Bijal, and Care Aide, Karen, for the compassionate care shown to Betty and the family.
Funeral Mass will be held Friday, June 10, 2022, at 12:00 p.m. at St. Agnes Church, 4811-49 Avenue, Mayerthorpe, AB, with Rev. Fr. Felix Devasia officiating. A Celebration of Betty’s Life will be held in West Lorne, ON.
