With heavy hearts we announce that Elaine Dozois – Mac Millan passed away peacefully at her home while she slept on Tuesday, November 1, 2022. She will forever live on in the heart of her husband Jim Mac Millan. Loved and cherished mom of Andraya Mac Millan and Kyle Mac Millan. Elaine’s granddaughters where her pride and joy and she will forever be remembered as the best Nana by Evangeline and Chelsia Dunn and Sarah and Emmaline Mac Millan. Dear daughter of Larry and the late Madeline Dozois and loving sister of Paulette Dozois, Paul Dozois and Marie Teresa Majid (Sikander). Elaine loved the summers sitting on the deck surrounded by her gardens, waiting for that elusive hummingbird to arrive. Family and Friends are invited for visitation at the Haycock-Cavanagh Funeral Home (409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg, 519-627-3231) on Monday, November 7, 2022 from 10am until the time of her service in the funeral home chapel at 11am. I was sorry to just learn of Elaine’s passing. She was a student of mine in grades 5 and 6 at OLM in the early 70’s. She was one of the incredible students in that class that I remember dearly. Elaine along with her classmates which included the Cassidy, Wing, Mallon, and Bednar children to name a few were a pleasure to teach. In all my years of teaching I must admit that they were the best group of students I ever had. On one occasion when I had a supply teacher covering my absence that teacher called me after spending a day with them. She was so impressed with them that she said she would gladly substitute for me again for free!
