MURRAY, Edward John
January 16, 1930 – July 10, 2022
Edward John Murray was born January 16, 1930 in Calgary. He passed away from cancer on Sunday, July 10, 2022 at the age of 92.
He will be missed by his wife of 70 years, Camille; his sister, Isabel; his children, Douglas and Marjorie; sisters-in-law, Patricia and Arlene; lifelong friends, Ken and Dave; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter, Elaine; his brothers, Jim and Dave; and his sister Sheila.
Ed grew up in Calgary and moved to Crossfield in 1955 to help on his Uncle Jim’s farm. He had many jobs in his life including: City of Calgary firefighter, farmer and manager of Rockyview Gas Co-op. He was proud to be a member of the Crossfield community and served as Mayor. He enjoyed taking trips on his motorcycle and was a member of the shrine motor corps. He enjoyed woodworking. He built birdhouses and birdfeeders and enjoyed watching the visiting birds. He was an incredible cook. Ed was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Eastern Star.

There will be a Celebration of Life held at the Crossfield Community Hall on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at 3:00 PM.
