It is with deep regret that we announce the passing of Edward
J. LeBlanc, 73, on Friday, August 19th, 2022,
at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont UHC. Born in Minto, he was the son of the
late Lionel and Margaret (Saulnier) LeBlanc.
Edward was a quiet, gentle soul, always discreet and
respectful, selflessly putting others’ needs before his own.
He always looked for the good in people and was very well know for his
quick, dry wit. He was a devoted, loving husband, father, grandfather
as well as a loyal friend.
He loved the stillness of nature, walking through the forest,
fishing, and tending to the family campfire but was happiest spending
time with his family and friends, bowling, playing cards, horseshoes
or merely sharing stories around the fire.
He was passionate about music, playing guitar and singing
with family members Reg, Roland, and Norbert. You may remember him
from such ensembles as “Les Crawleux” and “Joe and the
Juice Band”. They enjoyed performing for senior citizens in
several local nursing homes as well as at the Dr. Léon
Richard Oncology Centre. Brothers-in-law Bill, Moe and Joe
occasionally joined in. He was looking forward to learning new songs
on a recently acquired guitjo (guitar/banjo). He would be pleased
knowing that his children and grandchildren will continue to share his
passion for playing music.
Edward was beloved by everyone and made a profound impact on
more people than he ever could have imagined.
Thank you to family and friends for making his last summer in
Bouctouche so meaningful.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Dian (Surrette)
LeBlanc of Moncton; his children: Dawn LeBlanc of Moncton, Ken
(France) LeBlanc of Bedford, and Julie (Bobby) Gautreau of Memramcook;
three grandchildren: Isabella, Esmée and Emanuel; his
siblings: Anita Vanbuskirk (late Eli Hébert and late Doug
Vanbuskirk), Jeannette (Earl) Jones, Doreen (Norman) McGee, Pauline
(Maurice) LeBlanc, and Lucille LeBlanc (Norbert Belliveau) all of
Moncton, Gerald (Thérèse) LeBlanc of South
Carolina, Geraldine (William) Gardner of Bridgewater, Rita LeBlanc
(Tony Breau) of Cocagne and Reginald (Gisèle) LeBlanc of
Saint-André-LeBlanc; sisters-in-law: Lorraine LeBlanc of
West Virginia and Judy LeBlanc of Moncton, as well as many nieces,
nephews, and cousins.
Aside from his parents, he was predeceased by his siblings:
Louise, Laurie, Nelda, and Norman.
Resting at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre (88 Church
St) with visitation on Friday, August 26 from 2 to 4 pm, followed by
funeral service at 4 pm. Edward’s final resting place will
be in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery in Dieppe.
The funeral service will be streamed live and may be viewed
on his obituary at www.frenettefuneralhome.com.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to
