Obituary for
Edith Christel Braun (née Knodel)
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our wonderful, caring mother, grandmother (Oma), great-grandmother, sister and aunt on Monday, August 15, 2022, at the age of 93 years.
Edith was preceded in death by her husband and the love of her life, Eduard; her parents, Julius and Elsie Knodel; and her sister, Ingrid Borau.
She is survived by her children, Gordon (Cindy) Braun, Martin (Cheryl) Braun, David (Gail) Braun, Edwin (Debbie) Braun, Robert (Maureen) Braun, Erica (Jim) Murray, Doris (John) Van Andel; 13 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 4 sisters. She will also be missed by numerous extended family members.
Edith was a loving mother and mentor for both her family and others in her community. Putting a knitting needle in her hands, Edith created phenomenal works of art.
Funeral Service Thursday August 25, 2022, at 1:30 p.m. at Park Memorial Chapel, 9707- 111 Avenue, Edmonton. Interment will follow in South Haven Cemetery, 5004 Meridian Street. In lieu of flowers, donation may be made in Edith’s name to the Cross Cancer Institute.
