Obituary of Drago Mlinarevic
MLINAREVIC, Drago
It is with sad and heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather “Dida”, on October 26th 2022 at the age of 86. Beloved husband to Eva (nee Buconjić) with whom he celebrated 61 yrs of marriage. Loving father to Jadran “Jad” and wife Diana, Ante “Tony” and wife Suzana, and Johnny. Proud Dida to Nicky, Daniella, Luka and Julia. Cherished brother-in-law to Domagoj Buconjić and wife Marija, the late Tomislav Buconjić and surviving wife Zora, Stanko Buconjić and wife Filipa, Rajko Buconjić and wife Smilja, and Milena Kopić and late husband Stipe. Dear cousin to Zdravko and late Anica Mlinarević. Best friend to Slavo Brajak. Adored uncle and friend to many in Canada and Croatia.
Drago was born October 24, 1936 in Tihaljina, Croatia to Ante and Anica (nee Kordić) Mlinarević. He immigrated to Canada in 1963 to create a better life for himself and his family. He retired from Chrysler after 30 years of dedicated service and he was a member of Unifor 444. He was a true sports fan supporting the Chicago Blackhawks and the Croatian National soccer team. Drago truly loved his family, his faith, his Croatian roots and traditions. A faithful member of St. Francis of Assisi Croatian Catholic Church, and avid member of the community and the Windsor Croatia Soccer Club. Drago’s greatest pride in life was being a part of his children and grandchildren’s milestones, accomplishments and successes.
