It is withheavy, broken hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father, Dragisa.
Dragisa “Dragan” Grahovac was a loving, generous and hardworking father of 6 and grandfather of 1. After a difficult and heroic battle with cancer, Dragisa, 55 years old, passed away peacef
ully in the early morning of Saturday, March the 5th 2022 at home with his children by his side.
Born on July 13th, 1966, to mother Radmila Kokovic and father Slobodan Grahovac, in Kula, Yugoslavia, Dragisa was the eldest of 5 brothers, Zoran, Srdjan, Milutin and Vitomir. After completing his studies and pursuing his passion of mechanics, Dragisa moved his life and family to Canada where he made an impact on every single person he’d met. He was able to apply his passion for mechanics by starting his own business, DG Auto, which he ran successfully for over 20 years, and was well known and loved by the community he served.
His dedication to his Serbian traditions and past-times will always be in our memories; from live music and singing, to rakija and roast piglets and lambs, Dragisa was always the life of every party. Dragisa’s favorite hobbies included fishing, boating and spending time with his children and friends.
Dragisa leaves our world as a proud man, who is survived by his 6 beautiful children, Radmila, Aleksandra, Nikola, Danica, Mihajlo and Danilo, granddaughter Kassandra, as well as many family members and friends who loved and cared for him dearly.
A viewing will be held on Saturday March 12th from 11:30am at All Saints Serbian Orthodox Church, with a service to follow at 1:00pm. The burial will take place at 2:30pm at Saint John’s Dixie Cemetery.
A luncheon will be held following the burial in the hall of All Saints Serbian Orthodox Church.
Dragisa holds a piece in many people’s hearts, and he will be missed dearly by many.
