Obituary of Dr. Javed Joseph
Dr. Javed Joseph passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home on Thursday, June 2, 2022 at the age of 80. He will be remembered by the love of his life, Dr. Jacqueline Joseph, his devoted wife of 51 years; his loving daughter, Shama and husband Les, along with his pride and joy – grandchildren Misha Jacqueline and Joseph Javed; his nephew Shailesh (Vandana) Masih and their children Sejal Jacqueline and Arshi Jasmine. Javed honourably served in the Indian Army. He was a combat veteran and left the service with the rank of Captain.
Javed and Jacqueline moved to Canada in 1973. 1979 was a big year, as he welcomed the birth of his only child, a daughter, Shama, while teaching himself Spanish to attend medical school in Mexico to help provide a better life for his family. He attended Universidad Autonoma Guadalajara, and convocated with his Doctor of Medicine degree in 1986. Following graduation, Javed began a pediatric residency in New York City. He chose to return to Regina to a family medicine residency and be reunited with his beloved family. This turned out to be a good decision, as he had a fulfilling career as a dedicated and respected physician in the city of Regina for 33 years. One the highlights of his notable career was his weekly visits to Cupar Nursing home and Hospital. Javed loved serving as a Cupar’s community doctor for more than 20 years. Well-liked and respected by many colleagues, patients and friends, Javed will be greatly missed for his humour, wit, compassion, and his entertaining and joyful stories.
A celebration of his beautiful life will take place at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK
on Monday, June 6, 2022 at 3:30 p.m.
