Dr. Dale Glenn Springer
November 16, 1954 – January 23, 2022
With great sadness the family announces the passing of Dr. Dale Glenn Springer at the age of 67 years, on Sunday January 23, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. Gentle and loving husband of 18 years to his wife Kelly. Supportive stepfather to Erik Sivyer (Amanda Yager) and Kristin Wright (Chris). Proud “Papa” to Hunter. Dale loved all of his family and extended family and will especially be missed by his cousin Bonnie Anderson. Dale was born in Tillsonburg on November 16, 1954 to the late Ellen Springer (Maize) (2021) and father Dr. Glenn Springer (2014). He continued the legacy of his father with caring for the vision needs of Tillsonburg and area. He was dedicated to his patients and office along with being a mentor to many in his area of expertise. He married Kelly on June 14, 2003 and they enjoyed their time together golfing, swimming and travelling. Dale was a Trustee for St. Paul’s United Church and is known to be a fair, kind and gentle man who was professional in all aspects of his life.
Family and friends will be received at Ostrander’s Funeral Home, 43 Bidwell Street, Tillsonburg on Thursday January 27, 2022 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm. All guests are required to register for visitation on the funeral home website or by calling the Funeral Home. Should additional visitation time be required, time slots for further visiting hours will be added accordingly. All guests must wear masks and remain socially distant. Guests are asked not to attend if they are ill or under isolation.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St. Paul’s United Church or the University of Waterloo School of Optometry and may be done online or by contacting Ostrander’s Funeral Home (519) 842-5221 who have been entrusted with the arrangements. A private funeral service will be held at St. Paul’s United Church on Friday January 28, 2022 at 1:00pm and will be livestreamed via link made available on Dale’s memorial site at www.ostrandersfuneralhome.com. Inurnment will take place at the Tillsonburg Cemetery at a later date with his mother Ellen.
