Obituary of Douglas Anthony Desnomie
Douglas Anthony “Cannon” Desnomie, late of Regina, SK, passed away suddenly on December 30, 2021 at the age of 57 years. He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Alex and Margaret Desnomie; maternal grandparents, Alex and Maggie Nokusis; parents Francis and Irene Desnomie; brother Arthur Desnomie; and good friend Calvin “Bumstead” Bird. Douglas is survived by six brothers, Harry, Claude (Marla), Francis, Craig, Alan Roy and Warren (Cindy); one sister Dorothy (Del); along with numerous nephews, nieces and grandchildren.
In his younger years, Douglas was an avid athlete. He enjoyed playing baseball, volleyball, basketball and curling. As a young boy, he was the bat boy for Peepeekisis 81’s Men’s Ball Team in which he earned the nickname “Cannon.”
Prior to his 40th Birthday, Douglas sustained a brain injury. For the last 17 years of his life he participated with SARBI and SABI (Acquired Brain Injury Groups). Douglas enjoyed participating in the groups as he found comfort, reassurance and friendships.

Wake will be held at Mary Immaculate R. C. Church, Peepeekisis Reserve on Friday, January 7, 2022 at 4:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at the same location on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. Interment in Peepeekisis R.C. Cemetery. All COVID protocols will be followed.
