Haycock, Douglas Paul

Doug was born on March 7, 1940 in London, Ontario. He received early education in St. Mary’s, Ontario before the family moved to Bright in 1954. He then attended high school in Woodstock, Ontario. Predeceased by his parents Arthur Haycock and Dora smith Haycock.
Doug married Lenore McIntosh in 1960. He enjoyed playing darts, tug of war and golf. In St. Mary’s, he was involved in minor hockey and fast ball. He held executive offices in Junior B hockey club and the Lumber Kings ball team. He was a member of ParQ in St. Mary’s and was also an active member of the Kinsmen Club, holding many offices, he was deputy Governor of Zone F and was awarded a Life Member of the club in 1980. Doug was a life member of the Presbyterian Church of Canada.
He was employed Domtar Packaging for 30 years (now Cascades) retiring in 1998. Moving to Foresters Falls in Renfrew County, Ontario. He enjoyed the country living, raising chickens and turkeys and gardening. Doug was a good carpenter making his own furniture. He became an associate member of the Legion in Cobden.
Doug is survived by his wife of 60 years, Lenore and two sons Keith (Sharon) and Clifford (Vicki), four grandchildren Meghan, Matthew, Dusty and Shelby and five great grandchildren Bryson, Brooklyn, Mason, Gracelyn and Wyatt. Predeceased by his sisters Nora (John), Emma (Howard), Evelyn (Jim) and Rose Ann, as well as brothers Gordon (Vera), Jim (Rosie), Ernie (Ros) and Ken (Donna Jean). Doug is survived by and predeceased by many brothers and sisters in-law.
Professional arrangements entrusted to Zohr Family Funeral Home, Renfrew. As per Doug’s wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be no funeral service and Doug will rest for eternity at Ross Cemetery in the Whitewater Township, Renfrew County. Tributes and condolences may be made online at www.zohrfuneralhome.com
